As a breast cancer survivor and entrepreneur, we're taking notes on Dot's approach to living her best life!
TELL US ABOUT YOURSELF:
My name is Dot Stern, born in a refugee camp in Thailand as Bounprakhong Khongkhoune. I live in California with my husband and two kids, and am a buyer for an emblems company.
WHICH SOLEIL ROSE PIECE IS YOUR FAVORITE?
My favorite piece is the bikini top- it fits snug, comfortable, no tugging, sliding, rising on one side or the other... my chest isn't swimming in it as it usually does when I try on bikinis. That's why I don't own bikinis because I can't find one that fits my top ever since I had my mastectomy.
WHAT'S SOMETHING THAT IS IMPORTANT TO YOU?
I have two children. I love them both equally but I find myself being more of an advocate for my daughter who has autism, is gay, and is in the process of becoming who they were meant to be. So I educate myself every chance I get so that I am fully present in every aspect of the process.
WHAT'S SOMETHING YOU LOVE ABOUT YOURSELF?
I love the fact that I'm creative. I can sew... almost a lost art these days... I love to recycle all types of materials and turn them into useful items.
WHAT GIVES YOU CONFIDENCE OR MAKES YOU FEEL EMPOWERED?
My ability to stay positive gives me confidence. I feel empowered because I know it's all in my mind- what I say is what I am!
